A shooting at the Ella Apartments in Lubbock left a 14-year-old boy dead.

Lubbock police officers responded to a shots fired call at roughly 11:22 p.m. the night of Wednesday, June 9th, 2021. Officers arrived at the Ella Apartments, located in the 1100 block of 58th Street, and found a 14-year-old boy with a life-threatening gunshot wound.

That boy, now identified a Dequavion Traylor, was transported by EMS to University Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Police believe that Traylor was involved in a fight right up until the shooting occurred. What that fight was about or how many people were involved either isn t known or wasn t specified in police reports. There were no witnesses on the scene to help police paint a better picture of what happened.

Police actually said in reports that they still don t know the identity of the person responsible for the shooting and are asking for the public s help.

While the Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit is still investigating this shooting, you can call in information relating to the case for a possible cash reward. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Line at 806-741-1000 or Detective Thomas Bonds at 806-775-1489.

Any information that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a $5,000 reward. Crime Line callers can remain anonymous.

Taiwan-based gaming hardware brand MSI announced on Friday (11 June) that it will be launching its new MSI Gaming Arena (MGA) Collegiate programme across Southeast Asia, featuring two seasons of competition in Riot Games’ popular first-person shooter VALORANT from July to November.

The MGA Collegiate programme will be open to collegiate-level players from Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, and Indonesia. The MGA University Championship will serve as the overall umbrella for the programme while each participating country will have its own independent one to best serve its local player base.

MSI will be working in partnership with ESL Gaming, TheGaming Company, One Up esports, Riot Games, and VNG for the MGA Collegiate programme.

^MSI has organised MGA successfully around the world for years, including USA, Russia, and China, giving the players, no matter pro or casual, a stage to compete with the best and a chance to shine. It is our goal with the MGA University Championship to provide college and university age players an opportunity to directly participate in the wonderful world of esports, ̄ Sam Chern, Vice President of Marketing at MSI, said in a press release.

MSI also assured that the MGA Collegiate programme will adhere as closely to local school schedules as possible.
